The MoU was signed by QU President Dr Hassan Al Derham and Ashghal President Dr Eng Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi in the presence of officials from both institutions. It aims to establish collaboration between QU and Ashghal in the academic, research and student training and support field, as well as the exchange of information and consultancy.
In the terms of the MoU, CENG will provide Ashghal with consultancy and workshops covering the areas of project management, design, maintenance, road engineering, transportation and traffic safety, smart transportation, and geotechnical studies.
CENG faculty will also support Ashghal’s projects by ensuring knowledge transfer and progressive development of existing projects, while Ashghal will offer summer training to CENG students, as well as technical and technological support to CENG at all levels.
Dr Al Derham said: “The MoU highlights QU’s continuous efforts to provide solutions to local challenges, in line with national priorities towards a knowledge-based economy. It will also serve to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer and provide consultancy and research services, which will contribute to driving socio-economic development and sustainability in the State of Qatar.”
